In Memory of Mrs. Marie-Louise Hallak

In Memory of Mrs. Marie-Louise Hallak

It is with deep sorrow that the Bergen Linen and Hallak Cleaners family shares with you the passing of our matriarch, Mrs. Marie-Louise (Dartley) Hallak.  She was a woman of great compassion and class – and always fashionable.

Throughout the years, some customers may recall reading Hallak Cleaners’ newsletter articles regarding Mrs. Hallak’s contributions to the dry-cleaning industry.  Over fifty years ago, she and her husband, Mr. Joseph Hallak, Sr. started what would become their legacy – Hallak Cleaners.  While fashion and technology inevitably changed, Mrs. Hallak remained a vibrant and intricate part of the Hallak team.  She served as the company’s CFO up until her retirement.  At one time, Louise (the name by which she went) served a term as the President of the International Dry Cleaners Congress.

With love in our heart, Mrs. Hallak’s spirit and memory will always remain. Along with pictures (and awards) throughout our facility, there is also a map which seems to reflect her life quite well – scattered with pushpins indicating her many pleasure and business trips over the span of decades. For us, those pushpins represent happy memories, achievements, old friends, new friends and family. While the Hallak family now has an inescapable void – we find comfort knowing that Louise lived a full, beautiful and meaningful life, surrounded always by family and dear friends – to the very end.

You are welcome to learn more about Mrs. Hallak and her service arrangements.   Over the next few days, Hallak and Bergen Linen will be staggering employees’ shifts to allow them the opportunity to pay their respects.  Both companies will remain open with normal hours – but please be patient with our reduced staff for the next couple of days.
