Mardi Gras 2019 Party Preparation

Mardi Gras 2019 party preparations should begin now – or previously!  Next Tuesday, March 5th, the celebration will have begun.  If it feels late this year, it is just later than usual.  The holiday is always forty-seven days before Easter.

Green, purple and gold are typically considered THE Mardi Gras colors. While different historians (and websites) may have varying viewpoints, here are the common descriptions behind each hue:

• Green represents faith
• Purple represents justice
• Gold represents power

Basic party must-haves:

• Bold masquerade masks
• Lots and lots of beads
• Party purple, gold and/or green linens
• Specialty cocktails with a nod to New Orleans

2019 Wedding Trends

The Signature Cocktail

A signature cocktail is the perfect addition to this year’s weddings – and other special events.  As Valentine’s Day is this week, we especially love this pretty red cocktail. (It also provides a spring/summer vibe which we certainly can use.)

 

Customization is key at this year’s events.  Party throwers are looking into building special stations for attendees such as:

• Sundae and Dessert Stations

At these various stations, people are encouraged to mix and match. It is all about creating something that they would love to eat or drink.  And who wouldn’t want that type of encouragement?

It is bold, beautiful and bright –  yet comforting.  This trending shade should be our inspiration for the year.

The pretty hue is also certainly reminiscent of the spring and summer seasons that we long for.  With winter in full effect, let’s welcome anything that brings a little warmth in.
