Thanksgiving Table 2019 Preparation

Have you begun your Thanksgiving table 2019 preparation? By now, your venue may have already begun taking holiday reservations.  While it may begin slowly, your calendar will fill up soon enough. Thanksgiving is a special day that brings family (from all over) together.  Without a grand feast, is it really Thanksgiving?  (We don’t think so either!)  While family is a reason to gather, it is only all smiles with the right menu.

At this point, your chef and kitchen team have been working on a menu. Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing – the traditional choices.  Then, you may consider throwing in some  personalized dishes as well.  Much like your meal, you can choose traditional (e.g. neutrals) and/or throw in something a little special. For example, a pretty gold napkin.  Gold, rust, dark green and other colored linen rentals speak ‘Thanksgiving’.  Dress up your table today!

First Week of Fall 2019 Check-in

Prepping for this season’s events.

With this being the first week of fall 2019, the Bergen Linen team thought this would be the perfect time to check in with you AND your team.  Although Autumn has officially begun, it certainly feels like summer.  It is actually an ideal time because your decor can fall into either seasonal category.

The most important thing to keep in mind is all those upcoming events and holidays.  While those events may seem far away, you know they will be here before you know it. Will you be ready?  This is the time to take a look at your current everyday linens.  (And also plan ahead for any specialty orders.)  Did you know Bergen Linen also offers various colors and textures? From the obvious to the more subdued, we are here for you and all your linen needs.

When you think of fall, what colors do you think of?

• Orange
• Tan
• Gold
• Chocolate brown

However, ‘summer’ certainly seems to be sticking around.  Therefore, you can certainly still request more warm weather like colors. (And of course, there are really no actual rules to all of this!)

RFID 101 Class

Welcome Back-to-School 2019 season! Bergen Linen is excited to present to you a quick RFID 101 ‘Class’.  In addition, we will briefly explain how this is useful both to you (as the customer) and us (as the provider).

What does RFID stand for?

Radio Frequency Identification.

When was RFID technology invented?

Harry Stockman (scientist and inventor) has been credited with his 1948 invention.  However, Charles Walton was granted the first patent in 1983; his patent was for an RFID device.

How RFID is used in the linen industry?

These informative tags provide real-time inventory and tracking data.  This means a win-win for both you and your linen provider (should they have this technology).

Last year, Bergen Linen’s team spent many months sewing in these RFID tags (within a custom label).  Then, we structured our internal UNIX system to work in tangent with the tags.  Thus, allowing us to track inventory whether it be at our warehouse or on your shelves.   For example, let’s say there is an issue with ‘missing’ product.  A BL team member can pop by your venue with a tracking device.  If the linens are not there, we know to investigate a little further on our end.

Back-to School Bash

Ending the Summer Right

With Labor Day right around the corner, why not plan a fun back-to-school bash? Invite your friends, family, your children’s friends (and their families), etc.?  While some will still travel during the holiday weekend, there are plenty of people that choose to stay local. Staying close to home doesn’t mean you can’t have fun!

Here are a few fun end-of-summer party ideas:

For some, a theme may be considered pointless. However, you may find it super helpful when deciding on beverages, a food menu and decorations.  With a theme, you can streamline your party checklist that much quicker.

Speaking of party planning checklists, this is a good time to start one. Check out some of these to-dos that you may wish to add:

• Pick a theme
• Choose date and time
• Send out invitations/contact guests
  • Keep running head count (will help determine quantities later)
• Create food and beverage menu
  • At the same time, make a list of grocery needs
•  Determine how little or how much decorating you’d like to do (and time will allow!)
  • Party linens are easy, affordable and quick! Add a pop of color or pull a theme together.
• Consider the details: restrooms, music, inclement weather, etc.
